Final Design Ideas (All Products)

Website Development & Techniques (Photoshop & Photoshop Filters)

For my development of my website I experimented with two things. Different layouts & different image styles. Using photoshop I experimented with filters to see which would make my image most striking and stand out from the norm. I am a fan of the darker and more "gritty" image that the filter creates, because I like how it looks less pristine and fits in better with the idea of urbanisation and the buildings I went and saw.

With the layouts I was mainly concerned with how effective they would work as a website and where each button should go and how i would put the logo in with it.

Artist Research: Dan Flavin

After our trip to the tate modern I created a page on Dan Flavin. I tried to recreate some of his art using plastic straws and liked the result, although  I don't think it is right for my final pieces.

I am going to focus on his linear shapes and bold use of neon colours in my own design.

Artist Research: Mad CLayer

When thinking of urban environment, my first thought when it came to my artist was graffiti. However, I didn't like how much of an obvious choice this was.

When i found my artist Mad CLayer I loved his mixutre of the freedom of spray paint, contrasted with his strong shapes and lines.

Tate Modern (Visit)

Our trip to the tate modern was really fun, and also really important in our project. I was a little skeptical when i first set out, but was pleasantly supprised that I found inspiration and actually chose one of my artists.

I loved Dan Flavins use of neon lights and linear designs and can't wait to encorporate it in my own design.

Tennis Art

I really liked researching tennis art and trying to recreate it myself. I used different materials such as oil pastels and oil paints to see which created the best effect. I used layering for one piece, with tracing paper to portray the movement of a tennis player (a different piece of tracing paper per movement) and loved the result.

Urban Environment: London Town (Visit)

After Niketown I took the oppertunity to walk around central London and take some pictures for my urban environment aspects of my project. I loved the shapes of the buildings and the contrast of the someone grotty and old looking buildings to the grandure of the cities main sights (big ben, st pauls etc) I used layering on this page to try and show my favourite buildings in a more unique and effective way.
